About Donovan
First and foremost, I am a lover of sound in all its forms. Starting from as an outside observer of sound and music as a child, it has since come to embody many of the ways I interpret my own life. Sounds, songs, and compositional ideas fill most of my waking mind. At times, it feels as though the very presence of sound consumes me, leaving me imbued with a mind full of beautiful noise. It is my gift, to reach into that ghostly reservoir and translate those sounds, into concepts, into songs.
​My body of work is unique in the fact that I have never allowed myself to rest inside of one genre or composing style. As a producer and composer, I am deeply dedicated to continuously exploring my own curiosities and to creating visionary soundscapes and songs. I have a strong background in compositional sound design, as well as over 20 years playing various bands and producing other artists.
Within my personal catalog of music I have thousands of songs spanning multiple genres, from pop/electronic, to southern rock, psychedelic/alternative metal, darkwave/synth metal, ambient sleep, orchestral/symphonic, and even comedy. I am continually looking for new challenges, new ideas to pursue, new ways to interpret the way that I hear music. I have been gifted with an endless ear for melody, and I want to share that with you.
